The Lingua Shapta Trio are recording three new songs, tentatively titled “Sandcastle,” “Time Resistant,” and “Tabula Rasa.”

The trio is planning to release the songs by the summer.

About

Lingua Shapta is a play off of the Italian phrase lingua franca, a common language used by merchants from different parts of the Mediterranean. Lingua, itself, means tongue or language, and shapta is a Sanskrit word for sound, and used as an offering of music in Buddhism. Together these two words express that the songs of Lingua Shapta are offerings of word and music, and that they speak of a commonality amongst people and art.
